Department of Fisheries

The Government of Kerala have drawn up a total integrated plan to improve the basic infrastructural facilities of the coastal belt. To accomplish this, the State financially involves through the Department of Fisheries in projects like the Integrated development of fishing villages, drinking water schemes, integrated coastal area development projects, artificial reef installation, deep sea fishing, processing and promotion of value added fish products and coastal social infrastructure projects. There is a 10% State share in the construction of modern fish markets.
